Did you hear our expert discuss US-China tensions on a new episode of the Morning Shot podcast?
On this episode of Morning Shot, John W Tai, Senior Advisor at Pamir Consulting weighs in on the state of US-China ties and where it's headed. His three takeaways were:
- High-level communications between US and Chinese leaders such as the
one that took place recently between President Biden and Chinese leader
Xi Jinping are welcome, but there is still a great deal of distrust
between the two countries that need to be overcome. - US and the international community have legitimate concerns about
Chinese behaviors, such as Chinese policies that promote overcapacity,
which negatively impact other countries. - Beijing is not abiding by global standards and norms that have
benefited all countries, including China; in fact it is attempting to
introduce new standards and norms that serve Chinese interests to the
detriment of other countries.
